Dancing Freedom is a type of ecstatic dance practice that offers shamanic and ceremonial aspects.

There is no choreography.
You are invited to dance your own dance and move your body however it wants to move.
The body is wise and it knows exactly what to do. You cannot do it wrong.

Each dance is filled with a wide range of experience of movers and shakers - from first timers to old timers.
You are different each time you walk into the room and so is the group - so each session holds endless possibilities.

Each dance has a different theme to explore (which will be advertised on social media) - and is lovingly curated with music from all over the globe to assist with your journey.

Every body and every part of you is welcome here.
You are invited to bring a curious mind and open heart.

When: Fortnightly Fridays during school term. Please click 'book now' to check the calendar for upcoming dates.

Time: 5.55pm - 7.45pm

Where: Upstairs at Elements Fitness, Armidale. You do not need to be a member.

Exchange: $20. Please bring ca$h on the night. If you are unable to contribute financially, please reach out to discuss an alternative exchange.

Note: This is an adults only session.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

1. Warm Up ~ warming up the body & moving in the space to emotionally & energetically arrive.

2. Opening Circle ~ come together in circle to open the space with welcome & intention setting - with an optional cup of cacao to intentionally open the heart space.

3. Dance Your Elemental Wave ~ we dance to a wave of tempo - starting slow, increasing to a peak & then bringing the energy back down. We move through Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether to assist us and I will give invitations to guide your practice deeper.

4. Closing Circle ~ come together to close the space, with an opportunity to share.

5. CommUNITY Tea Time ~ A time to connect with eachother & integrate before heading home.

Some agreements for all dance spaces:

  • Dance sessions are a device-free space. Please keep your phone on silent or off. No recording devices.

  • This is an alcohol & drug free event

  • No shoes. Barefoot, socks or dance shoes are welcome.

  • Once you enter the dancefloor space - no talking - please take any conversations outside. There is time to connect after the dance.

  • Be responsible for your body (move within its abilities to avoid injury). Move how you feel and stay open to this changing moment to moment.
